Drop Elms a line to tell him if you’re coming so that they can set up the appropriate amount of space in the training facility.

Saturday’s game was amazing, and it even made the news!

The Augusta Mad Dogs won a nail-biter yesterday, beating Baton Rouge RFC 29-27. Baton Rouge struck early with a drop goal and a penalty kick, building up a first half lead that Augusta couldn’t break. Strategic subs at half time  brought fresh legs onto the pitch, and Augusta slowly pulled close.

The Mad Dogs had trailed BRRFC the entire game, and were down 27-26 with eight minutes left in the match. BRRFC committed an offsides infraction. Silky Don Zuelkhe slotted the kick, pulling Augusta ahead by 2, 29-27. The Mad Dogs hung on to the lead like grim death for the remaining time, qualifying for the 2nd round of the playoffs.

Baton Rouge played terrific rugby, and should not hang their heads after the match.  Augusta and Baton Rouge met before the match to announce the Augusta team was donating to the scholarship fund established in memory of their fallen comrade and teammate, Nathan “Chuck Norris” Carse. Augusta Rugby would like to congratulate Baton Rouge on their successful season and their classy style of play.

What’s next for Augusta? A home match vs. Nashville on April 14.
